Business Programme
The Man Business Programme is designed to develop graduates with breadth and depth of experience in some of our core business areas and the operational and client service teams that support them. We achieve this by rotating graduates through three different parts of the business. This enables graduates to develop skills particular to each of those areas, with the principle aim of acquiring transferable knowledge as they progress through the programme. Our graduates build a network of contacts across the business and use this to the benefit of their own development, their team and the company.
At the end of the 19 month programme, graduates will have a detailed understanding of how our business works, how we interact with our clients, and how we operate internally.
The areas involved in this programme have operations in Pfäffikon (Switzerland), London, and Dublin as well as some of our other regional offices. A full list of the business areas who may participate in the programme can be found here.
Graduates will typically undertake a professional qualification during their time on the programme – e.g. CFA, CAIA, IMC.
Your day-to-day experience
Every graduate’s programme is different and crafted to suit your interests and development needs as well as those of our business. You can expect to complete three six-month placements, in London, Switzerland and/or in Dublin.
Wherever your placements take you, you will be working in areas that play a critical part in running our business. By gaining experience with different teams across a range of functions you will build a seamless understanding of what we do and how we operate – both day-to-day and strategically.
Your experience will vary greatly as you move between different teams. In the course of your training, you could find yourself forecasting potential operational bottlenecks in central management, analysing financial arrangements and liaising with banks in product management, working in our treasury department, developing new products, working on a new product launch or re-branding in Marketing, helping to develop the E-Commerce strategy or preparing economic performance reports in Investment Services and Client Reporting.
It’s fair to say that no two graduates ever go through the programme in the same way.
Based in: Finance
Within the Business Programme, we offer a 3 year Finance Graduate Programme. The graduates will be members of the Finance team and will study towards a CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountancy) qualification.
The Finance team at Man Group manages internal and external financial reporting, including management information. Finance works closely with the business to support their decision making process. The key to creating a successful career in our Finance function is to provide you with exposure to as much of the function as possible early in your career. The successful candidates will rotate through Finance and its associated functions (e.g. Treasury, Tax, Risk) and work in a number of different roles (e.g. a rotation in the business), in order to develop an understanding of the activities of Finance and their impact, importance and dependencies elsewhere.
If you are applying to the Business Programme based in Finance to study for CIMA, please ensure that you outline why you want to study for the CIMA qualification. Applications which do not include this information are likely to be rejected.
Based in: Marketing & Client Services

MCS provides expertise for the development, launch and ongoing servicing of the Man's product range and services. The unit combines marketing, e-commerce, reporting, valuation and shareholder services and is responsible for delivering co-ordinated client service to our investors.
