Job Title: Product Engineer
Current Business Area: Product Engineering

Hobbies & Interests: Going to the gym, reading, travelling, catching up with friends and flatmates and getting out and about in London, with all that it has to offer.

For me, the best thing about working here is the variety. Although I looked at the Rotational Graduate Scheme at the outset, I joined the Product Engineering team directly and since then, have never looked back.

At the moment, I’m involved in modelling the new products Man launches to make sure that over time, they’re all performing well. I started off learning to run the models, but now I can dig a bit deeper into the code and am getting involved in the development side of things.

This means I’m really developing my skills. And not just the analytical side of things either. I’ve learnt to be much more organised in my approach and, as I’m working alongside colleagues who may not have a mathematical background, I have to communicate complicated ideas to different types of people. It’s a challenge, but one that I’m really enjoying.

I’m sure most people interviewed will talk about the relaxed, friendly environment but it’s really true! Everyone is supportive and, as long as you’re a team player and can pull your weight, you’ll get on. As I said earlier, it’s the variety that I enjoy the most (I also don’t mind my few trips to Switzerland every year) and, with so much more to learn I can’t see myself getting bored anytime soon!
