Although work is taken very seriously at Man, there’s a great balance between it and enjoying yourself. We’re based 2 minutes from the lake where we all go to play basketball, squash, swim and jog. And, although it’s not the only reason to join, it’s great to be able to have these facilities and find the time to use them.

I joined in 2007 after seeing the job on a website. The role seemed to fit my experience perfectly and I also knew a friend that worked here who spoke very highly of the company. I’m a credit analyst, which means I look at various companies to identify any warning signs around their credit quality and make recommendations based on my findings.

It’s been a steep learning curve, putting the theory learned at Uni into practice and new and unexpected challenges come up every day. I’ve improved on all my skills and can now see information from all sorts of angles. I’m also studying for the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam and am awaiting the results as I write this. Man are very supportive when it comes to doing courses and give you study leave to revise for exams.

All in all I’m very happy at Man. It’s rewarding work and I can only get more challenge and responsibility as I improve. And of course, the balance is right – both work and colleagues are fun!
